  1. Sir,

That a man of taste should, seemingly, so generously give rare and excellent music to the world, is of course wonderful; and whereas P2P generosities ask for no recompense, that some monetary reward be received to cover expenses, is also acceptable.

But to require that patrons jump through so many ridiculous, and dangerous, hoops, close adblockers, use VPNs, fight many popups for games and porn, awake Norton, and be alarmed by audio warnings in a suddenly unclosable browser that the computer is infected and we must call this number, requiring Task Manager to close, (all of which you cannot be unaware), is surely unacceptable.

Sir, please revise your procedures, try and monetize in another, safer, and far less crass, manner, for it is quite unbecoming a man of taste and culture to so blatantly act as an agent of trickery, as is everywhere to be found on sites of infinitely less merit. Shame!

    Thankyou.

    1. First of all I don't think we should enter a discussion about the ethics of uploading (in my case) and downloading (in your case) music for free.
      However:
I tried myself to download three of my files above using firefox with adblock plus on in free user mode and didn't encounter the problems you mentioned. Bigfile had a waiting time of 90 seconds but after that and solving the captcha I got a downloadspeed of 400 KB/sec. Depositfiles had a waiting time of 60 sec and after solving the captcha I got a downloadspeed of 200 KB/sec. Uploaded.net obliged me to de-activate adblock and that brought ads and some popups. But beside that after a waiting time of 20 sec and solving the captcha it got me a downloadspeed of 50KB/sec. So yes, you have to put some effort into getting the files and no, there is nothing unsafe in downloading my files. There is also no need to use a VPN.

    1. In the moment I use Depostfiles. Use of Uploaded generates warnings. I don't know why. When I ignore the warnings all the downloads were OK.

    2. Warnings about Uploaded are generated mostly by browsers who consider some/most of the files posted on some servers as dangerous. I can assure you my files are save.

Only Turboblit is not supported...About time well..I can wait! Again THANK YOU for your wonderful blog!

  4. Sirs,

I am even having trouble publishing here my response; this is my third attempt.

Oh, unless you are deleting it!

  5. I agree with the sentiments of SBookman, and have often wondered why when downloading the purest, best music, one has to be inflicted with brutal advertising that can sometimes be quite damaging or at least annoying, but like the others I find that using a combination of Adblock Plus and JDownloader I am spared the worst of the atrocities.

    1. I'm sorry that the fileservers I use inflict you with advertisements, allthough I can imagine they also have to earn money in some kind of way. I now I can use other fileservers, but through long experience I made my choice for the four I use right now.

    1. Mr. Bookman,
I didn't delete your replies. As you can see above all your replies complaining about deleting the replies are still there. I saw one of the replies (after the very first one) was deleted by yourself.
However if you want to go along with the discussion about the ethics of uploading and downloading whatever kind of music for free, I won't follow you down that path.

  7. Sir,

Three more attempts to send my reply, in Chrome, in IE, and as Anonymous, (for each of which I receive a confirming email), have failed.

  8. ...and yet a short message gets through.

It could well be that the problems I outlined, (not the ethics), are due to my location, my ISP. Is there another means by which I can send my reply?

    Thankyou.

    1. I don't understand. The replies in which you mention that your reply doesn't get through are getting through. Maybe you should try not replying to my longer reply to your first comment, but use a new comment or if the comment is to long split it up in several comments. Also look at the suggestions of others. Maybe the programs they are using might help you out.

    2. Sir,

In all my replies I use 'Add comment', not 'Reply', except now.

    3. Sir,

My disappearing responses, (for each of which I received an email copy), presented some details of my problem with each fileserver, and was as follows:

      "Sirs,

In the Bacevicius Orchestral Works, Vol. 1, part 1, example, using latest Chrome, AdBlock active, no VPN:

      ...

      Delete
  9. ...Uploaded.net: page opens: popup dismissed, after the 30 seconds wait, click to download, the cycle repeats exactly: (popup, 30 seconds wait), twice, third time no popup but another 30 second wait, repeat, repeat. In IE, no AdBlock, advert dismissed, 30 second wait, same cycle exactly.

Depositfiles: click Regular Download, no response, link dead. In latest IE, exactly the same, no response.

Bigfile: click Slow Speed Download, window opens with warning and voice says 'Important security message. Please call...' Tried twice, each time forced to close Chrome with Task Manager. In IE the same, twice, but a different page, voice, and message, requiring Task Manager to close.

    ...

Turbobit: click Regular download, First try today: 'You have reached the limit of connections from your IP range, try again in 10 minutes'. Click in 10 minutes, told in 59 seconds link available. Click, and latest Internet Download Manager downloads. Ok.

Gentlemen, these are the hoops I must jump through. My location may be the problem.

      Thankyou."

The above message appeared on your site as published, then a minutes later, after a refresh, it was gone. As may well happen to this reply. Let's see.

(The reply I deleted was simply a duplicate of the very first.)

      Thankyou.

    3. I can read all replies above. If you can't than I think there is something wrong at your side. I'm very sorry that you encounter these problems. As I said I could download with not very much trouble in freemode using firefox from uploaded, deposit and bigfile. Turbobit gives ne the same problem as you said, but from other users overhere I understood that they are using turbobit without trouble. Maybe you can solve your problems using the downloadmanagers suggested by other above, allthough I don't have experience with them.

    4. Sir,

I can read all the replies above. Perhaps there is an unstated wordcount limit.

I think it best, seeing as your heart is in the right place, that I continue as I have been doing, hoop-jumping, - perhaps simply because of my location, my ISP, - but far more silently.

Ironically, the two Bacevicius I have downloaded, - though his Second Symphony and First Piano Concerto long ago spoke a little hopefully to me, - did not touch me at all.

Thankyou and sorry for all the trouble I have caused.

      SBookman
